We’ve all been there before.  We love all of our local restaurants, but we humans are creatures of habit and tend to go to what’s close or quick to eat and you can get in a rut really quick.  Sometimes though, you’re craving a bit of excitement and adventure.  You’re willing to drive a little bit to find that unique place or flavor that you just can’t put your finger on.  You scroll through your mental Rolodex (I might be dating myself here) of restaurants in town and each card comes up, you say to yourself “Eh, just not tonight”. 

Let’s add these new cards to the old Rolodex shall we?  They might already be in there, but they might not be fresh in your mind.  Sometimes the food is perfect and because of that, there’s no time to update your social following, so here is my list of the 5 best under-the-radar eats.  Because we want you to try these amazing places, we’ve also included all the information that you’ll need to scratch that culinary itch like phone numbers, addresses, and menus.  Some of which you won’t find online anywhere else!

1. Mr. Kebab & Shawarma

If you’re craving a taste of the Mediterranean, Mr. Kebab & Shawarma is your go-to spot. This cozy eatery offers a big menu full of dishes that transport you straight to the Middle East. Tucked away in the back of a shopping center behind Paul’s Mountain Meats and bursting with flavor, this restaurant offers a menu brimming with traditional Thai dishes. The Pad Thai and Tom Yum Soup are particularly popular and will leave you planning your next visit before you've even finished your meal.  We’re kinda basic, but the classic Shrimp Pad Thai is unbeatable.

The friendly service and relaxed atmosphere make it a perfect spot for a casual meal with friends or family in their quiet and spacious dining room.  We always get the Sirloin Tips with fries and trust us, you won’t need steak sauce.

Whether you’re enjoying their famous smoked meats or indulging in a wrap or salad, the serene setting and delicious food make Little Bridge Marina a must-visit destination.  When it’s in season, their Brunswick Stew is an old-timey BBQ joint staple that is sure to bring back memories of your childhood.  Our everyday favorite is the BBQ Pork Nachos.  There’s just something about the combination of nacho cheese and BBQ sauce that’s hard to turn down.
